Bank of America is the second largest bank in the U.S.A. with 5100 branch offices and the world’s largest wealth management corporation, Merrill Lynch.
Astor Wells was contracted to address customer-facing issues related to a system upgrade to SunGard’s InTrader fixed income trading system.
Business Case
Bank of America was an existing InTrader, but SunGard planned to sunset their version of the software because it lacked the ability to handle newer fixed income products and it became more costly to maintain (for SunGard). BoA’s IT department embarked on a two year project to migrate data and customers over to the new version. One of the bank’s goals was to minimize the impact on to their customer base.

Project highlights
Astor Wells reviewed and helped prioritize over 120 high level requirements, conducted meetings with business units, documented process workflows, and produced a 45 page specification document compliant with the bank’s Six Sigma standards. We referenced vendor API documents to create high and low level designs utilizing real-time XML messaging, data mapping, and report design.
